Beech Class Options
This page has been designed, written and built by Jack, Noah, Preston and Jacob, students in Beech Class, as part of their ASDAN PSE Short Course.
Along with The Duke of Edinburgh Award, the two other options we can choose from are Art and Gardening. Information about Gardening is included in the Duke of Edinburgh page because it fulfils one of our Volunteering requirements and one of our skills requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh award. Gardening can also be chosen on it’s own and we can work towards an ASDAN qualification in Gardening.
What does Art look like at The Mendip School?
In our art lessons we use different materials to create pieces of art work. Each lesson our teacher shows us a different art technique to practice for example shading, printing and using watercolours. We also get to choose a topic and produce our own work relating to this for example Manga and Anime, Places and Spaces and Fantasy.
Art is also one of the GCSE’s we can take at the school.
