Our Governors

The Mendip School’s Local Governing Committee (LGC) is committed to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. Alongside our dedicated staff team, governors work hard to support and challenge the Headteacher, contribute to the school’s strategic direction, ensuring that the school has the necessary resources and to review the progress of the school towards achieving its aims. We Are Recruiting – Become a Governor at The Mendip School!

We’re looking for someone in our local community who wants to make a real difference. The Mendip School supports pupils aged 4–19 with autism and communication needs, and we’re seeking a new volunteer governor to join our dedicated Governing Body.

You don’t need experience in education — just enthusiasm, good character, and the time to get involved. Training and support are provided.

As a governor, you’ll help shape the school’s strategic direction, support and challenge our leadership team, and ensure we’re meeting the needs of our pupils and community. The commitment is around three meetings and two monitoring visits a year.
