Teal Class
Teal Class
We are a Secondary class comprising of Year 10 and 11 students; we are focusing on our academic learning in addition to life skills activities which will prepare us for life after The Mendip School, which is part of the Ready to Learn cohort. We have specialist teachers in English, Maths and Science and are completing either an Entry Level or GCSE in these subjects. We also have the opportunity to follow additional qualifications such as ASDAN short course qualifications and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
We start our day by being able to have breakfast which we do ourselves. We then watch the BBC news, where we can discuss what is going on locally and nationally and we finish with doing something active, we are then ready to start our learning for the day.
Our Staff
Rachel Findlay
Rachel is the class teacher and has been teaching for 18 years, starting in a secondary mainstream school as Head of Girls Games and Second in Physical Education and then moved into Special Education, latterly at TMS as Physical Education Curriculum Lead. She loves teaching and sport and enjoys seeing children of all ages being active and learning through play and physical activity. Out of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking her children to various sports clubs, playing hockey and being a season ticket holder for Bath Rugby.
