Sycamore Class

Sycamore class is made up of pupils from year 6 to year 8. We use a holistic curriculum which focuses on building positive relationships and encouraging engagement in school activities.  Sycamore class loves getting out into the community and exploring the world around us. We do outdoor activities, weekly shopping and engage in activities like swimming and boxing. Our activities change every term so that we can get a taste of new things and find out what we enjoy and excel at. The class work hard on their learning, developing and applying the skills they learn. The aim is that this learning will then support them in future education, employment and general day-to-day living. Sycamore class is often found helping out other classes with their learning. Sycamore class has their literacy and maths embedded into their timetable both through tabletop tasks and using those skills in the environment. An example of this is the Tesco shop and using budgeting skills to prepare a meal in food technology. Sycamore class encourages pupils to learn where they are at and growing together.
