Horse Chestnut Class

We are a Secondary class comprising of Year 10 and 11 students; we are focusing on our academic learning in addition to life skills activities which will prepare us for life after The Mendip School, which is part of the Ready to Learn cohort. We have specialist teachers in English, Maths and Science and are completing either an Entry Level / functional skills or GCSE in these subjects. We also have the opportunity to follow additional qualifications such as ASDAN PSE short course qualifications and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Kate Scott

Class Teacher

I am the class teacher in Horse Chestnut class. I have been working at Mendip for a year now.  Over the last 23 years, I have taught in both mainstream secondary and special ed. I have 3 boys that keep me busy as well as 2 labradors which I enjoy walking. I love sports, whether watching it from the sidelines as well trying my hand at different activities such as cricket.
