We are holding our annual Careers Week during the week of 22nd – 26th June 2026.  Each day at the Mendip School we will be looking at different careers centred on different areas with informative and fun activities in class and for the whole school to take part in.

Monday sees off site visits to Somerset Science and Earth Centre with in school visits from Greg The Vet, Helen’s Teddy Bear Hospital and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.  On Tuesday there are offsite visits to Bath and West Showground and an Asda store.  In school we have visits from Somerset Science and Earth Centre and a parent From Fosseway School coming to talk to students, and Joel will be running a Story Song Project.  Wednesday once again has Little City in school all day to engage our primary level pupils in role play, Little City (littlecityuk.com) and Helen will be engaging some classes with Helen’s Practical First Aid Skills.  Offsite visits on Wednesday are to the East Somerset Society of Model & Experimental Engineers (ESSMEE) Railway built on the Bath and WEst Showground.  On Thursday we are being visited by the Carymoor Enviromental Trust Schools Against Waste project who are presenting 3 different workshops during the day.  Also on Thursday some classes wil be involved with Big Brush Dentist activities in school.  Friday sees some classes involved in an Enterprise Project Activity with the year 10 and 11 students from Horse Chestnut taking a train trip to Weymouth giving them a chance to practice social skills and taking responsibilty for using timetables and their own individual tickets.
